The BAND-IT T30069 center punch tool has a tension handle and a floating punch head and can be used on a workbench to tighten and secure a BAND-IT center punch clamp around a fitting. The tool accepts BAND-IT center punch clamps that are 5/8" wide and between 1" and 8" in diameter. The tool comes with an adapter that enables it to accept clamps that are 3/8" wide and 13/16" or 1-3/8" in diameter. The tension handle can be pushed downward with short strokes to tighten the clamp. The continuous take-up function can tighten a clamp of 8" diameter until it measures 3/4" in diameter. The floating punch head can be hit with a mallet (sold separately) to create a dimple lock in the clamp to secure it. The tool is made of carbon steel, which is resistant to impacts and wear.
